Course Overview

The One-Year Programme in Design & Denim Technology is a specialised course that combines creative design with the technical and industrial aspects of denim development.

 

The programme provides students with an understanding of denim textiles, fabric construction, garment design, pattern making, manufacturing, washing and finishing techniques, surface embellishment, sustainability, and emerging denim technologies.

 

Through practical studio work, industry exposure, trend research, and hands-on projects, students learn to transform creative concepts into commercially viable denim products and collections.

 

The course also develops skills in CAD, product development, quality control, costing, merchandising, and branding, preparing students for diverse careers across the denim, fashion, textile, garment, and lifestyle industries.

Tech requirements

Minimum 10+2 / Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board.

Students from any academic stream—Arts, Commerce, Science, Humanities or Vocational—may apply.

​

Students appearing for their Class 12 examination may also apply, subject to successful completion.

​

Work Experience of more than 2 years in the denim industry / brand.

English proficiency sufficient to understand course content, participate in discussions and complete assignments.

​

Basic written and verbal communication skills are expected.

Basic computer and digital literacy.

​

Willingness to participate in practical projects, presentations, workshops and collaborative assignments.

​

Access to a computer/laptop and reliable internet connection for online or hybrid learning components.

​

Ready to experiment at the R&D Lab.
